Samsung NF310 A01 Review.

After months of lugging around my full-sized Macbook Pro laptop, I finally broke down and bought a Samsung NF310 A01 netbook. As a student, I wanted the convenience of being able to easily transport my computer to class, the library, coffee shops and campus events.

After using the Samsung notebook for the past two months, I am happy I made the switch and could not imagine life without my netbook now.

The netbook came with a 1.5 GHz intel atom dual core processor, 1GB of memory, 250GB hard drive and the Windows 7 operating system. At only 1.2 inches in height with a 10.1 inch screen size, the netbook fits perfectly into my bookbag. It never weighs me down because it weighs only three pounds.

I purchased the netbook from Amazon.com and was originally attracted to its sleek design. The silver-gray exterior does show smudges and fingerprints easily, but I really liked the curved design. The curved risers are more than just nice to look at; they actually help protect dust from getting into the interior.

At first, I thought the large battery was a bit cumbersome, but it actually elevates the Samsung when it is resting on a flat surface. I spend hours typing notes and term papers and found that the elevation makes typing much more comfortable. The large keyboard is also ideal for a student or anyone spending a lot of time typing.

The touch pad is generally adequate but at times feels a bit too small to use the netbook's multitouch capabilities. As a former Macbook user, I became accustomed to using both fingers to scroll through pages and perform other functions. While the touch pad is fine most of the time, I do occasionally miss the ease of a more spacious surface.

I am an avid photographer and am pleased with the way my photos are displayed on the Samsung. The high-resolution display makes my pictures look very sharp. I also do quite a bit of research on my netbook and text displays quite clearly. I sometimes have to adjust the text size but in general it is easy to read using this device.

I also was impressed by the Samsung's stereo speakers. I was surprised by how loud I could crank up the volume without compromising audio quality. I have used the included webcam to Skype with friends and am pleased with the video quality on my Samsung Nf310 netbook.
